Rafael Perez has been with the Arroyos since the beginning in November 1986. He began as a groom, but his natural connection, and his gentle manner with the horses soon moved him into a training role. Rafael honed his skills as a halter trainer through a great deal of personal instruction over the years from Ray LaCroix and Steve Heathcott. Rafael shows all of the Halter horses for Arroyo Arabians and their clients and has won several US National Top Tens and Regional and District Championships as well as several Cal-Bred Top Tens. Rafael has become an excellent trainer of performance horses as well.
